High School Diploma
On June 11th, 2013 i finished my last class needed to earn my High School Diploma!!! A real diploma, not a GED. I cannot begin to tell you how happy i am. Nine years after i should have graduated i did! I know some people don't see what the big deal is, but for me it's huge. I spent 5 1/2 years in a bad marriage, being told how i was nothing and would always be nothing and would never do anything. When i kicked him out he reminded me as often as he could how i was nothing and would do nothing without him. Even a caseworker at DHS told me "At your age, why bother." This was in response to inquiries about what programs were available to help adults get their GED or diploma for college. Despite all this, all the people who thought i couldn't do it, i did it. I DID IT!!!!!! I did it for myself, to be able to make life better for Landon and I. I did it for Landon, to show him that it is never to late to accomplish any goal you set.
