Landon's 9th birthday and an awesome recipe to try!
Today my baby turned 9. Where has the time gone? I swear last week he just came home from the hospital, all little and wrinkly and orange, and now he is a real little man.
For Landon's birthday we had a tie dye party with a photobooth. We had a lot of friends and family come over and had a little bbq. We had chips and dip, a fruit platter with dip, baked beans, chicken, pasta salad and hot dogs. The food was delicious and everyone loved a new dip recipe i tried, that i'll be sharing at the end. The kids spent a lot of time playing outside, and digging "for treasure" in the dirt in my yard, lol. Landon had a cool tie dye cake, yellow cake with cookies and cream filling. It was sooooo good!
Landon got some awesome presents, his favorites of which were his bike and his new TMNT sweatshirt.
The thing the kids all liked best (besides the cake) was the photobooth. I did the first one last year at my graduation BBQ, and it was a huge hit. This year i bought the props instead of making them, which was about the same cost and less work for me (yay). The kids love being silly with the props, and it's fun to watch.
Easy Refried Bean Dip Recipe
And now on to the dip recipe. I wish i had gotten a picture of the dip before the heathens attacked it, LOL. It's so easy to make and it really looked so amazing.
Ingredients
-One can re-fried beans
-2 cups shredded cheese, i used colby jack
-One small container of sour cream, maybe like a cup worth
-Half a packet of ranch dressing mix
Mix everything in a small pot, and heat it till the cheese is melted and everything is mixed thoroughly. The dip tastes amazing, but doesn't look very appetizing. I added 3 drops of red food color to make it look a little more orange and attractive. I served it with tortilla chips and also plain ridged potato chips and it went fast. If you try it let me know how you like it!
