Then life got hectic...

I had big plans this week to blog everyday, plus work on homework and both my papers, but then life got hectic. Blogging and product reviewing is so much fun, and i have a huge passion for it. But it has to come second to school and family, and this week, with two 10+ page papers to write school has been the center of everything, lol. After tomorrow, when we celebrate thanksgiving and my midge goes off to his dad's for the week of Thanksgiving break, i will be back in full force, catching up on posts, posting a few recipes and showing off some pictures from Thanksgiving, plus another more in depth life update by the end of the month. I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed, happy Thanksgiving holiday!

ASUS and my fight for them to be honorable

This blog is about my fight with ASUS computer company to get them to honor my warranty and replace my laptop. If anyone wants to share this page on the ASUS facebook page i would appreciate it. It also would be great if people could please go to this tweet and re-tweet it. The story In February of 2013 I purchased an ASUS brand laptop. The salesman highly recommended the brand, and it had several features i was looking for, including windows 8. $400 later, i left the store with a new laptop for school and a happy spirit. Flash forward ONE MONTH, and i started having an issue with the laptop. The sound would stop working, both on files and online. After contacting both geek squad and ASUS, they determined that i had gotten a virus in the audio software. I uninstalled the software, ran a comprehensive virus cleanup, purchased a new "better" anti-virus program the ASUS tech recommended and re-installed the audio drivers. Why i stayed...

In light of the recent video that has come to light showing ex-ravens player Ray Rice knocking then fiance, current wife Janay Palmer unconscious in a elevator, i have seen a lot of people asking "why did she still marry him?" and "why do woman stay with men that beat them?" I'd like to take a moment to offer some insight, as a survivor of domestic violence myself. The day i was married, sept 2nd of 2005, 8 months pregnant and so naive, is the day my ex-husband first hit me. One of my male family members had said something incredibly rude to him, which caused us to argue after the wedding and reception. I made the "mistake" of defending that while my uncle was wrong, he said what he said because he loved me. I didn't even see it coming when he backhanded me. I locked myself in the bathroom, holding my stomach, thinking of my son, and sobbing. But he apologized...he was stressed, hurt by what had been said to him, and so sorry. He worked hard ...
