The Drawing Lesson by Mark Crilley

 The Drawing Lesson is a graphic novel that teaches you how to draw. The book follows a young boy named David, who meets a woman in the park who is drawing. He asks her to help teach him, and in each chapter we get to see him learning something new with Becky's help. Page by page, Becky teaches David (and the reader) about the essential fundamentals that artists need in order to master drawing. The book includes lessons on shading, negative space, and creating compositions, with easy to follow exercises to help you master the techniques.
 
My son Landon LOVES to draw. He also LOVES comic books. When I saw this book I knew that he would love it. The book is beautifully illustrated. The characters make it more interesting to read and follow over just an instructional drawing book. My son loves reading and using his drawing pad to try out the new techniques. This book is perfect for any child who loves to draw, loves art and loves to learn.

ASUS and my fight for them to be honorable

This blog is about my fight with ASUS computer company to get them to honor my warranty and replace my laptop. If anyone wants to share this page on the ASUS facebook page i would appreciate it. It also would be great if people could please go to this tweet and re-tweet it. The story In February of 2013 I purchased an ASUS brand laptop. The salesman highly recommended the brand, and it had several features i was looking for, including windows 8. $400 later, i left the store with a new laptop for school and a happy spirit. Flash forward ONE MONTH, and i started having an issue with the laptop. The sound would stop working, both on files and online. After contacting both geek squad and ASUS, they determined that i had gotten a virus in the audio software. I uninstalled the software, ran a comprehensive virus cleanup, purchased a new "better" anti-virus program the ASUS tech recommended and re-installed the audio drivers. Why i stayed...

In light of the recent video that has come to light showing ex-ravens player Ray Rice knocking then fiance, current wife Janay Palmer unconscious in a elevator, i have seen a lot of people asking "why did she still marry him?" and "why do woman stay with men that beat them?" I'd like to take a moment to offer some insight, as a survivor of domestic violence myself. The day i was married, sept 2nd of 2005, 8 months pregnant and so naive, is the day my ex-husband first hit me. One of my male family members had said something incredibly rude to him, which caused us to argue after the wedding and reception. I made the "mistake" of defending that while my uncle was wrong, he said what he said because he loved me. I didn't even see it coming when he backhanded me.
